The inauguration is part of a new collaboration with Atlas and marks love.fútbol’s 27th pitch in Mexico.
The “La Z” pitch in Tabachines—located in northern Zapopan, Jalisco—is now officially open; it seeks to expand opportunities for play and bolster the presence of community sports spaces in Jalisco.
The collaboration with Atlas Femenil will bring this model to Tabachines, integrating the club into a process that links its sports expertise with love.fútbol’s community work. Additionally, the project seeks to increase opportunities for girls and women to participate in sporting activities at the facility.
“Having Atlas back a community project in Jalisco for the second time allows us to continue our collaboration and build upon the lessons learned from the first pitch. These are the kinds of partnerships we need to expand access to play: commitments that can grow, adapt to specific contexts, and result in spaces developed *with* communities—not merely handed over to them,” said Kenza Gravois, Global Development Director at love.fútbol.
A Second Pitch with Atlas Femenil
The “La Z” pitch in Tabachines will continue the collaboration between Atlas and love.fútbol in Jalisco. It will be the second project developed with the club's support, allowing the lessons learned from the first joint experience to be put to use. With the inauguration of the “La Z” pitch, love.fútbol brings its total to 27 projects in Mexico and two in Jalisco. The opening also marks the second collaboration with Atlas in the state.
