This past weekend, the Perdizes project attracted more than 50 volunteers from the community, who worked hard to replace the soccer field’s old fence, clean the field, and dig a garden channel. While the adults worked, a group of local children put the field to proper use and held a friendly soccer match.
As mentioned on an earlier post, Sandro, the coach of the Coritiba Football Club’s women’s team, is the person who made this project possible. We also want to give a shout out and say “Thank You” to the eleven members of the community development committee. This leadership board includes the coach of a local American football team, among others. This group was, and continues to be, responsible for gathering the support of 100+ community volunteers so far, as well as dealing with troublesome construction delays.
