We’re happy to announce that the Cachoeira field, Brazil’s second project and love.fútbol’s eleventh field, has been completed. The inauguration was held this past Saturday on February 23. The community supported the love.fútbol’s mission, working month after month to finish the brand new field.
The inauguration ceremony kicked off with children singing the Brazil national anthem and holding flags from Brazil, love.fútbol, our sponsor Hotel Salinas, and Cachoeira Futebol Clube, the local soccer team.
“The construction of this field is a story of perseverance and hard work that will remain a sense of pride for the community for many generations to come,” said Mano Silva, our Chief Operations Officer and the President of love.fútbol Brasil.
The construction of this field is a story of perseverance and hard work that will remain a sense of pride for the community for many generations to come. Betânia, the community school professor and a leader throughout the project said, “The completion of this project brings us joy because we contributed towards the ability of our children to play sports every day. At the beginning, people did not believe that would be able to accomplish this goal, but today we see that we can do much more!”
Nene, one of the most active participants, said that “getting to where they are today was not easy and that he’s very proud of his community”.
Cachoeira held many musical and dance presentations, including one from Samba-de-Matuto Leão de Primavera, representing the popular culture of Maragogi and State of Alagoas. The teenage dancing group ProJovem Maragogi also performed xadado and carimbó, two Brazilian traditional dances, captivating the whole community.
During the event, members of the Cachoeria community played soccer before and after the event.
In Brazil, the passion for soccer is contagious and love.fútbol couldn’t be happier for how things are developing in region. We would like to give a special shout out to Mano Silva, Flávio Lira, Breno Lacet and the many other love.fútbol members who put their time and effort into making these projects happen.
